THACKER, V. CLAY, age 85, of Carlisle, OH, passed away, Wednesday, March 28th, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in College Corner, IN, on April 22, 1926, to the late Zachariah T. and Nettie A. (Dickson) Thacker. He retired in 1990, from Apex Machine & Tool in Dayton, after 48 years of service; and was a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Thacker; 5 brothers, Everett, Clyde, Ivan, Gordon and Silas Thacker; and 2 sisters, Gladys Chaney and Chloe Smith. Clay is survived by his wife of 60 years, Twila (Sauter) Thacker; 2 sons, Kevin (Leann) Thacker of Carlisle and William Thacker of Canal Winchester; 3 grandchildren, Jared Thacker, Lucas (Gwen) Thacker and Jessica (Peter) Stemple; 2 great-grandchildren, Elijah & Malia Thacker; his brother, Paul Thacker of Michigan; his sister-in-law, Mildred Thacker of Monroe; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call 1-2 p.m. (1 hour prior to the Service), Saturday March 31st, at the Dalton Funeral Home, Corner of State Route & Weaver Rd., where the Memorial Service will follow at 2 p.m., with Pastor Maurice Dunn.
